New David Matas book reveals transplant abuse in China

International human rights lawyer, David Matas, launched his tenth book on the evening of Aug. 30 at Winnipeg’s McNally Robinson bookstore.
The book, entitled, “State Organs  Transplant Abuse in China,” published by Seraphim Editions, tells how the Chinese health and prison systems are killing inmates (including prisoners of conscience) for organ transplants in the thousands annually – in violation of international professional, ethical, and legal standards.

Israel getting “Talk”

Michael NathansonMichael Nathanson’s drama “Talk” is heading to Israel this April. The Winnipeg Jewish Theatre (WJT) production is the international participant in the Stage One English Theatre Festival to be presented in Jerusalem April 8-10.
Talk is about two longtime friends who find themselves on opposite sides of the Middle East conflict. It debuted at the WJT in 2007, at the Harold Green Jewish Theatre in Toronto in March 2010, and at the National Arts Centre’s Prairie Scene 2011 in Ottawa.
