An employee of Canada Post, he was an avid sports fan. His favorite leisure activity was participating in sports betting pools and fantasy leagues.

The family would like to extend a special thank you the staff at Victoria Hospital, Health Sciences Center, and the Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre, for the excellent care that Allan received.

Allan was predeceased by his father, Hy Karlinsky, and his nephew, Matthew Karlinsky. He is survived by his mother, Eva Karlinsky, his brother Sidney Karlinsky, his sister, Norma Karlinsky and niece, Jennifer. He will be fondly remembered by his numerous cousins, scattered throughout Canada, the United States and Israel.

Donations in his honour can be made to the Matthew Karlinsky Memorial Bursary at Carlteon University.
